BECOMING A MEMBER

You must be a member of the Warwick Polo Club in order to have a lesson, membership can be purchased from the Warwick Sport website. CLICK HERE

Once you have registered with Warwick Sport, please fill in your contact details in the form at the bottom of this page. WE NEED THESE DETAILS BEFORE YOU CAN BOOK!

  • Please sign up no later than 5pm the day before your chosen lesson or you will not be added to it.

  • If you wish to cancel a lesson then please let the lesson co-ordinator know immediately or at the latest 5pm the day before your lesson! Failure to do this will mean that you will still have to pay for your lesson, despite not being in it.

  • Available lesson slots will be put up on a Sunday evening

  • For pricing, see here.

  • For where we play, see here.

TRANSPORT:

  • If you need a lift, we will do our very best to arrange this for you. Please let us know whether you need one when you sign up (there is an option on the form).

  • We always try our hardest to organise lifts to the yard, and in order to make this process easier for everyone we have created ‘lifts blocks’ that can be purchased on the SU website. You just have to buy a block in advance, the maximum a person can buy being 8 Leamington lifts. These blocks will be valid until the end of the year, and any leftover money will be place into the club’s account.

By doing this drivers can be paid bi-weekly or whenever they need as the club will receive the lifts’ money in advance.

For Rugby and Nationals a separate lift form will however be created made for the specific cost of travelling extra distance.

You can choose between 3 different blocks:

(these prices have been calculated according to how much petrol it will cost a driver to travel the distance to the yard)

You can purchase your block on the Warwick SU polo page website through these links:

  • Please be at the pick-up point 5 minutes before your scheduled time, as the drivers will be leaving at the allocated time and will not wait for anyone who is late... You will miss your lesson and still have to pay!

  • If you have your own transport it will be very much appreciated if you can help with any lifts!

  • There are times where you will be asked to take a bus to the Shell garage (in Leamington Spa at the top of the parade, get off at tescos) because our drivers are not always available from campus. So when signing up for lessons, please allow time for that just in case! The bus takes around 40-50 minutes.

             - The quickest bus to get is the U1. See the TIMETABLE HERE

             - Feel free to use other buses but these will take longer so please leave in enough time to get to Shell.

             - Please also ensure that you have left enough time for transport before and after your lesson, we can't have you missing
                lectures! ;)

  • TRY NOT TO BE LATE as this affects the other people in your lesson, not just you and will result in playing polo for less time!

  • There is technically a minimum of 3 people per lesson. If less than 3 people sign up, then that lesson might be cancelled. Sometimes it isn't. You will be told if your lesson is cancelled though (hence why we need your contact details!)

  • There is a maximum limit of 6 people per lesson except chukkas  (for novices only) which can have 9 people (we play a mini tournament with 3 teams of 3). This should be obvious on the lesson timetable.

  • Lessons are on a first come first served basis. The booking system will sort this all out automatically.

So fill in the form below (on your first booking of the academic year only) then go back to THE BOOKING PAGE to get your slot!
